August 2022
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the Eighth Grade! Another summer has almost ended, and we are all preparing for the coming school year. The 7th and 8th grades are fully departmentalized again this year. I will be teaching Social Studies; Mrs. Gassel, Language Arts; Mrs. Wright, Math; and Mr. Tackett, Science.
I am looking forward to the beginning of school and the opportunity to meet old friends and welcome new ones.
As we prepare for this most excellent year, please see below for a few important reminders and expectations:
Communication - We will use a variety of resources to learn and grow this year. In order to keep you informed of assignments and information, I will update Google Classroom daily. Passcodes will be provided on the first day of school. Monthly newsletters will be emailed to parents and students. Additionally, I believe in an open door communication path so please feel free to call me at school, email ([email protected]), or schedule a conference with me if and when needed.
School Supply List - Please refer to the school supply list located on the Immaculate Conception School Website “Parents” section, “Supplies List” for the supplies that you will need for 8th grade at http://www.springfieldcatholicschools.org/parents-hs/supply-list.html.
School Policies, Student Conduct & Dress Code - Please refer to and review the Immaculate Conception School Website “About” section, “School Handbook” tab for the current school and uniform policies at https://scspk12.org/welcome/school-handbook.html. I am looking forward to seeing everyone! You will be given a class schedule and an overview of all your classes on the first day. You can also bring a simple healthy snack on the first day!
Parent Information Night - Parent information night will be held Tuesday, August 23rd. More information will be provided soon.
Middle School Information- Students will have a morning snack time every day. Please have your child bring a small healthy snack to enjoy. A vending machine is available between 7:30-7:55am in the fine arts room. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle every day as well.
My goal this year is to provide a comfortable and safe experience for my students while we grow and learn. I want my students to enter our classroom every day and feel loved. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. I am sure that working together we can have a happy and rewarding year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Nanneman
